Most of my work is in portraiture although I will sometimes explore
abstract ideas. My work often involves appropriating and translating
the work of other artists such as Egon Schiele whose self portraits
I have translated into sculpture.
My creative process is a meditation, a way of holding on to one
thought, situation or emotion and exploring it. It’s a dialogue
between thoughts and the materials. Of solving problems that have
no definite answers only personal value judgments which allow the
work to evolve and sometimes stray from the original concept.
Once complete the work itself may be fixed but our response to it
is still an ongoing dialogue and therefore subject to change.
